Corrosion management and asset integrity management systems' objectives cannot be realized by simply focusing on “structure’s” preventive and predictive measures .It is necessary that other arrangements are also made to monitor the corrosivity of ambient, in order to take into account the role of the environment as the most significant factor in the corrosion process.
Accordingly, relying on monitoring systems and periodic inspection besides conducting electrochemical and chemical analytical tests enables measuring the corrosivity of the fluid running in the pipes, providing an opportunity to adopt necessary preventive measures by changing the ambient conditions—including the concentration and type of corrosion inhibitors.:
